Baby alpaca wool is an extra fine grade of alpaca wool comparable in softness to cashmere. It does not really come from a baby - it is from the first shearing of a one-year-old adult alpaca. Shearing is not harmful for alpacas and is necessary after winter's end to prevent them from overheating. This product was crafter by artisans in the Andes regions of South America.

By nature of their construction these socks feature a reasonable amount of natural stretch, making them appropriate for wear by those with feet ranging in size from medium-small to extra-large.
